4.56 Lakh SNPs covering complete genome of buffalo have been discovered using Reduced Representation Library and Standard Fragment Library
Parentage verification kit comprising of 15 markers in a single multiplex PCR reaction developed for buffaloes.
Confirm paternity software developed for comparison of large genotypic datasets
More than 85% confirmed paternity under field conditions using DNA marker technology.
The success of Artificial Insemination in buffaloes is comparable to cattle under field conditions

The project belongs to Component 4 of NAIP, under theme area of QTL identification Objectives :

Identification of QTL for milk yield, fat and protein percent in Buffaloes using Daughter Design in selected chromosomes.
Identification of positional candidate genes and development of markers in Buffalo based on cattle- human synteny
Fine mapping of QTL with SNP markers.
